When working with a dog and dog owner I believe in positive reinforcement, motivation and moderation. My training methods focus on positive reinforcement and negative punishment. I encourage new behaviors through positive actions, rather than using force or fear. In addition to the training, I will observe and manage the dog’s environment to prevent unwanted behaviors. If used correctly positive reinforcement, applied with behavior modifications can reduce the amount of unwanted behavior.
There should always be a generous amount of praise and reward available to your dog in any motivational training session. It is also important to know when to correct the dog for any unwanted behavior. With positive and modified corrections your dog will understand the desired behavior you expect of it.
